Read an article in Prevention Magazine that Psyllium Seed helps to avoid diabetes & reduces or eliminates diabetes medicines. Pour 1/2 cup of fiber suplement made from ground psyllium seed into a plastic bag, and tuck it into your purse.
Have a teaspoon full in a cup of water before each meal . Study shows reduces blood sugar dramatically from 210mg/dl to140mg/dl in one study.

Hi Babslady.... Sorry never got back to you. Yes you do buy it in the health food store. Bought the powdered variety mix it in water and drink. Really keeps you regular. It is the main ingredient in Metamucil. Sueanne

Psyllium seed

My friend as long as I know Psyllium seed is a common ingredient in over-the-counter bulk laxative products. One preliminary trial found that psyllium seeds relieved constipation when it was due to lifestyle factors (e.g., inadequate fiber, sedentary lifestyle), but not when an actual disease was the cause. Numerous double-blind trials have found that supplementation with psyllium can lower total cholesterol and LDL (“bad”) cholesterol. However, levels of HDL (“good”) cholesterol are not affected by psyllium supplementation.
