metal coat hangers?????

would you like to learn how to make a dragonfly or a butterfly? first thing is gather 3 metal coat hangers I will make 1 of each then show you how to make them give me a couple of days to do a tute for you these are so pretty when done to hang outside on a fence or garden wall I have a dragonfly but it is raining and can't get a pic right now here is the material list for you to gather while waiting

5 wire coathangers for the dragon fly and 3 for the butterfly
wire cutters
large amount of asst beads any sizes use up some of your old necklaces or bracelets
some small wire to join your wings and body together and also to string your beads a large amt of this I get big rolls at $ tree over in the auto part

check at your dry cleaners or goodwill or salvation army for hangers if you don't have them also have another idea using wire hangers when we are through with this project to put small hanging pots or several windchimes

Sounds interesting! I'll have to see if I can find some wire hangers.
I love windchimes.

ok here is the hanger for either small windchimes or small potted plants you lay 8 or 10 hangers on top of each other with the hook parts outward I used 8 if you want it to look like wrought iron spray paint with black then I wired the middle spines of the hangers together as tight as you can then spread your hangers out and attach a piece of wire and I strung 3-12mm crystal beads and wired to the next spoke and continued around if you don't have 12mm use some smaller beads just maybe add more to get your right span add a keyring or make a wire hanger on top and your done I will do a step by step pic tute here in a little while

when you hang your things from the hooks you can take a pair of pliers and bend the hooks in to make a loop so they don't slide around
