Always recycle my coffee grinds in the morning in the garden. They help nourish the plants and keep bugs away from them. The garden even smells of coffee with the morning dew. With the price of coffee don't want it to go to waste.

Re: What Did You Recycle Today?

I just returned from the SIMS recycling facility in Frankfort. We recently remodeled our house and stripped away most of the old bathroom and plumbing fixtures and a host of other stuff, leaving us with a good amount of metal junk. So we put it all in our van and drove down to the scrap yard which bought all our stuff right away and made us a great deal!

Awesome on the recycling and isn't it great when you can make a little money on top of it too?

Welcome to FC.

Recycled an old rusty broken wagon, as a planter.

Looks great.. I have one of those old little red wagons too but mine is still usable. I use it to cart water out to my garden from my rain barrel.

I have a large flower pot right outside my back door, I throw my coffee grounds in there and eventually put them in the composter. I can't just throw mine out as the dogs like to eat them and then of course they get sick, silly things LOL!

I use one of the plastic coffee jugs to keep my kitchen scraps and coffee grounds in then take to the composter when full. I rotate out about 3 of them so they dry outside and I don't have the wet smell in the house.

Today I recycled some golf tees and hot glued them to my seed packets to stick in my garden pots.

Yesterday I took 8 trash bags full of aluminum cans to recycle center. Took months to collect and I got $12. Not bad for trash I guess.
Decided it takes too much room to keep, so will start putting a bag out back on fence near alley, for the Monday "pickers" to take. I get them out of the house and they will bring a little cash to someone who needs them. WIN - WIN
Used that $12 to buy $12 worth of cat food today - so FREE to me.

Did you all know that you can recycle cat food cans as well? They are aluminum. I used to wash out (still do) and remove labels and take to center as well. They pay a little less than pop cans.

Today I took all my newspapers to the recycle bin at PO right up the street.
