Cat lover one thing I forgot. She might want to get a restaining order against him. That way he couldn't just show up and upset her more. And she would have a recourse behind her and add your mom to it so he can't even go to her mom and put her through any guilt trips and upset her too. That way your mom will know that she means business and that she doesn't want him anywhere near her any more.

I agree that she should talk to the minister and let him know what's going on too. Just in case he does show up to the church fund raiser. Since all are asking where he is and she won't have to makeup excuses for him.

Do they have kids together?

No kids together thank goodness! His are from two other marriages and hers are from her first marriage.

Her lawyer told her that since he already signed the quit claim on the house and property that he no longer has any legal right to step foot on the property. She changed her alarm code immediately, the locks a few weeks later and the alarm company knows he is no longer allowed on the property so even if he shows the police a drivers license with that address on it he doesn't belong there. And of course just being scared of him won't get her a restraining order there; he has to do something first!
