Accidental Diet/Portion Control Tip

Last week, all of my cereal bowls were in the d/w. I had to eat. I grabbed a coffee cup and ate my cereal. BONUS: I could walk around and eat - Key when you are a care giver!!! BONUS +: Talk about portion control! Holy cow! A coffee cup or a beaker does NOT hold as much cereal as a bowl. Its my new "Thang". Give it a try. I am now going to use this tip for ice cream, and any other foods that I would use a bowl for. Hooray!

Not a bad I idea for other food to!

My kids have yoghurt in a plastic cup, they are more likely to eat it this way than a bowl and it's cheaper to buy bulk than little tubs

Agreed. And I just learned that this idea is very good for seniors tht have arthritis, and sight issues - it was much easier for Mom to use the cup.

I eat cereal out of a coffee cup all the time - I never thought of it as portion control but you are right. Great tip!

Come to think on it we have soup mugs that have a wide mouth to use spoon or drink if you wish, same scenario .... and my mum used to work at a nursing home and they had all sorts of stuff plastic cups for them ..... just never thought of them as poriton control as well.
