Is anyone taking bee pollen ?

I have been doing a lot of reading lately on how good bee pollen is for your body. My DH works with men who swear by the stuff. He also works with a bee keeper so that would make getting the "real" stuff ( not pills) a lot easier.

Has anyone tried this stuff before ? It is supposed to be full of vitamins and minerals, give you extra energy, help with PMS and menopause and help with lack of concentration--just to name a few things.

Id like to hear some real opinions before trying it.

Thanks, Tami

I bought some bee pollen a long time ago and didn't give it a fair chance to see if it worked. I was wondering about the royal jelly too after seeing the lady on qvc about it. I may give it a try. But I don't wanna pay HER prices for it! I'll look at wally world...or where else?

My parents raise bees and my mother takes pollen. She, too, swears by it. Says she has more energy and feels really great.

As a last resort before giving up and using drugs to fight our serious hayfever problem, my husband and I tried bee pollen I had sitting in the cupboard (someone had recommended it for other things years before). It was Watkins Bee Pollen Complex containing royal jelly and bee propolis as well as pollen. After three days of taking two tablets twice a day, my hayfever all but disappeared. To make sure it wasn't just a change in the weather, I quit taking it and the next day the symptoms were back as bad as ever. I ran out and tried local bee pollen (not in pill form or capsules). It was just like not taking anything. Something about the blend in the Watkins formula really did the trick. Some other side effects were a significant reduction in pre-menstrual symptoms as well as a two-day shorter "period." That was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise. Needless to say, we have not run out of bee pollen since. I only take two tablets a day (in the morning) year-round. During hayfever season I occasionally take an extra.

Has anyone found a cheap version of royal jelly? I don't have a lot of money, but I'd like to try it. I don't know about the bee pollen though, it seems like anytime I drink tea that has it, my throat and lungs get funny. It could be something else in the tea, but that's the only thing I've been able to pick out. I was wondering, also, why would it shorten your period? I know I wouldn't mind it, but I'd also like to have at least one more child and it just doesn't sound right to me.

go to hsvitamins.com to order royal jelly online...I think they have a 3 for 1 sale going on and the whole order out the door won't be over $12...and royal jelly is well worth it...I work nights and take it daily and have since turned alot of the night people I work with onto it and they love it...
