GUM!!! That sure sounds good! I've got over 2 years yet before I can have any. Oh well, at least I'll have nice straight teeth by then.

Well, today was the day!

It took only 10 minutes and dd had no pain and still doesn't! I took back all my special supplies I had gotten for her, most of them and the rest is good for her lunches anyway. She is showing off by trying harder than she needs to, to talk funny. Some of her words are slurred but not all of them, she is doing that around other people to act like she can't talk. She wants to take the soup I got to school tomorrow so she can 'act sick'.-She's so funny!

They dentist said this will be in at least 3 months, but it could be longer. She better get used to this cause next is Braces!

It's good that she's taken to it really well, I just hope the kids at school give her a go and don't make fun.

She has a girl in her class with one

You really can't tell that she has it in her mouth until she starts saying S's or C's-LOL! She told me that if her teacher hears her talking this way, she'll send her to speech class-LOL!

Here's a link of one of the habit appliances, but dd's is much smaller and the ball is much larger completely blocking the thumb. But, here's there's:

Speach therapy

Ever since I got my braces I have felt like I need to go to speach therapy again. I went when I was in 3rd and 4th grade because I had a terrible lisp. I also said "s" instead of "th" and "th"instead of "s". So I would have said "sith" instead of "this" and "sough" instead of "though" and "dreth" instead of "dress". When I was in 12th grade I found out part of the reason I had that problem...... I'm dyslexic (sp?) - it doesn't help much with my spelling either LOL!

My niece has speech

She's in Preschool and has to take speech because on her father's side of the family, they have long tongues! Once she has learned to speak properly, she won't be considered a Special Education student any more.

I was sent to speech as a kid cause there wasn't enough books in my class. They told me I had a stuttering problem and suddenly I developed a stuttering problem! As soon as they had room, I was sent back to my regular class and suddenly the stuttering problem disappeared-LOL!!!
