I know it's been a while since anyone's posted here but I just gotta say. I have found, as a cheapo, that napkins and tea towels have made great, inexpensive and THE easiest window treatments. I just kind of came across the napkins as a fluke. I had bought them a couple of years ago at a jumble sale, but obviously thinking more of a kitchen......but then noticed they matched my comforter and I was desperate to have something on the windows in the bedroom so I took three of the napkins and hung them over the already existing rod (you could use anything). I just folded them in half on the diagonal over the rod and overlapped them a bit. I have one napkin draped across the nightstand to pull it all together and believe it or not it works.

My SIL sent me some flour sack tea towels for my birthday. They have a cute "silverware" design across each end. Again, desperate for window treatments, I simply hung them (as if drying) over the rod and they look great. I had to call my SIL right away to thank her.

I really liked your curtains Amanda....the buttons were a great touch. I also read that someone used cheesecloth as a window treatment and also saw it on another website. I want to try that.
I've never priced cheesecloth. Is it a cheapskate's dream?
