Wallies?

I think that's what they're called. They are small pieces of wallpaper cut into unique shapes, like leaves or birdhouses for example. Anybody tried using these? Saw a great clearance sale at a fabric store, but wondered if they work well (on walls and crafts).

I've used Wallies on clay flower pots with success, and my aunt has used them on walls & cabinets with success. Go for them when they're on clearance, otherwise they're expensive!

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHH! Hadn't even considered putting them anyplace but the walls, but now I will. YES, they were on sale for 50% off. The fabric store had a whole shopping cart full of them.

My mom got a couple packages with birdhouses and leaves, and she put them up in her bathroom. They look great. She is planning to go back and get the ones with apples for a friend's kitchen.

Thanks, Dawny

wallies

I made my own. I bought some wallpaper border but it was too tall to fit around my doors so I just cut out the seashells (the part I as after anyway) and pasted them around the wall just as I would have done the border and also pasted several on the cabinet doors. It looks nice and it's still there holding up well after 7 years. Have fun.

My husband and I put wallies up around our barnwood chair rail in the living room. We also made our own the wallie set I bought was of Moose and Evergreen trees since we are doing a north woods lodge theme heavy on black bears we printed pictures of bears on kodak paper from our home printer. I them cut them out and we painted glue on the back of them and intersperced (sp) them among the moose and trees I have yet to have someone come to the house and not comment on the wallies. We absolutely love them.

My sil did this in her dining room and then actually framed around them, so they almost look like little paintings under her chair rail. They look like Thomas Kincade prints but they were just cheap wallpaper borders that she cut from. She painted the whole dining room like the background and it's just beautiful!! She is so talented. I keep trying to get her to come here to FC. She would love it. She's always doing creative things in her home...and you should have seen her eyeing my house when she visited. I know she was itching to spruce it up. LOL:p

Have never bought specific pieces of wallpaper for that but I do pick up outdated wallpaper books and use the pieces in there that I cut out for crafts. Besides, these books are free!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread inspired me today. I grabbed some wallpaper border I had bought for the bathroom almost a year ago...cut it up and put it on the walls in a sort of random pattern. It looks good, now we'll just see if it sticks. The people who lived here before us thought it would be great to make all the walls from tub surround. Cleans easily, but looks pretty....well...stupid!!! This warmed it up a bit but I'm not sure if that paste is going to "take" to those vinyl walls. If not, I'm thinking I'll superglue it.
