Has anyone had success painting on roller blinds?

We just moved and I'm trying to save all of the $$$ I can by using the blinds, curtains...etc that were already in this house when we moved in. We have a new roller blind on one window that I'm going to use on the window in my daughter's room. She wants to decorate her room in very bright orange and pink (popular colors this year!). I'm thinking of painting circles of pink, orange and (neon green? since she loves green) on the shade.

I'm wondering if the paint will last on the blind or will it peel off? I've read that you can use regular acrylic paints on roller blinds but does it really work?

I haven't used paint on a blind before, but I have cut shapes from contact paper and put them on a roller shade. It works very well.

I am guessing that if you use paint, acrylic would probably work best. To keep the paint from cracking I would think you would want a fairly thin coat of paint. I would imagine a thick paint would crack over time.
Good Luck! Post a picture of your result.

I would think acrylic paint would do the job, or maybe fabric paint???

I vote for contact paper. I think any type of paint will crack and peel over time.

Or cut our shapes from fabric and glue it on.... again I don't know if it would peel off.
