Got rid of a lot of paper hanging around and put boxes out for recycling...seems most of our clutter was paper and boxes. Will be filing newer bill things and pay stubs and burning the years old stuff except for tax related things. Also weeding through broken toys and throwing away. Will be weeding through clothing that doesn't fit or is worn out and either donating it or getting rid of it.

This morning I gave away an $80 Senseo coffee maker. I used it once and it has just been taking up space. I gave it to someone who will use it and appreciate it. she was thrilled to get it and that made me happy. I need to do this more often.

I condensed a 2 drawer filing cabinet (sold) into 2 small hand held concertina files that go into my linen cupboard (1 of 2) that has space and I have floor space back

Since my last posting we've had another garage sale, last month actually, it was a garage sale to get rid of stuff therefore we sold it cheaply, I figured some $ back is better than nothing with it sitting in the cupboard collecting dust.
As only ds2 is at home now and he has a bigger bed the single bed sheets and doona covers no longer apply, so some little boy got some good cheap bedding.
DS is also out of school and at Uni now so all the school 'spares' so to speak were sold cheaply.
Hubby sold some of his stuff (he used to run the primary schools dances/discos so he had a few amplifiers, lights and stuff, they were the first to go it was great)
Cam even sold some of his DS games he has finished 3 times over and no longer plays.
Camping stuff went as we no longer need 4 of everything. We made $373.55c .... fantastic!!

We have been working for two years now on trying to declutter.. it would help if I stayed out of the thrift stores, LOL! Drop off stuff, go in and find stuff that I just know I'll need someday.. NOT! We will be having several yard sales this summer to try to continue with the decluttering project.

I have given away several large bins of books and several bags of clothes. I am going to be moving soon so am now getting rid of all kinds of things that I no longer use, want, or have room for. It isn't easy letting go of things but it is necessary. I find parting with books the hardest but when I know they are going to a good home it makes it easier. I really need to get rid of so many things that I just don't need anymore.
