Medievel Theme in Living Room

DH is a BIG fan of the medievel period - Renaissance festivals, knights in shining armor, all that stuff. We want to do our living room in this theme, and need some ideas. We have large pictures and rubbings of the period, and lots of small knick knacks that go with the theme. Any ideas how we can make changes to eventually make the room more theme-oriented?

Some ideas we've considered are building in our tv and shelves with an exterior that fits the theme. Using wallpaper that looks like stone or stones. Putting in tile that looks like stone or wood. Furniture is something we can't replace right now, but we're thinking rustic looking leather in the future. Lighting and drapes are a concern also.

Anybody know of a specific book that shows castle interiors? Thanks, dawny

Lightbulb Theme Options........

This living room of yours sounds like a fun challenge ahead! There are a number of handmade ribbons that you can use for borders that create this old-world feel. I have found a great selection of these ribbons and a pile of creative ideas also at a site I discovered http://www.looseends.com so you may want to give it a look..... Good Luck.

DH and I just bought our first house and at a consignment shop we found a beautiful medieval dining set. So we decided to do our whole dining room that way. I sure wish we had a festival around here!

I would love to hear some of your ideas!
Thanks
