The ONLY pillow I can use is a solid foam one. I buy them either at J C Pennys or Sears. All other pillows make my ears hurt...........I mean literally they cartilidge in my ears ache. The foam pillow is sooo comfortable but it cannot be put into the washer. I will be buying another one of these soon. I have had this one for about 5 years and the foam is drying out a little. I plan to buy the same thing again. I also take this with me whenever we travel.
Hope this helps. Oh the cost when I last bought one was $30

Thank you for that idea too! I dont think I have tried a solid foam one, but since you said it lasted that long, thats an idea too! Im going shopping tomorrow! cant wait now for my poor head to get some good sleep. I end up in hosp about once a month, I like to take my own pillow cuz theirs are very uncomfy, so I always buy extra one just for hosp. thank you again for your idea, Im glad I replied here!

bowlergrl2000, I hope that you can find something comfortable. I'm sorry to hear that you are in the hospital so often. Hopefully when you find the right pillow it will make your stays there a bit more comfy.
The soid foam pillow has little air holes all the way through it so that it keeps you from getting too warm and that probably adds to the softness of it.
Best of luck.
Let us know what you find...

Im also going through the wonderful "change", so I have the oh so much fun "night sweats"!!!!! Anything to keep the heat down would be fantastic!:p

HAHA!
I know all about those 'night sweats' because I am having them too!
Sometimes I wish I could keep my pillow in the refrigerator till that first heat wave hits in the night! Can't promise that the air holes will do much but it has to be better than it would be without them.
Gotta warn you that it might take a little time to adjust to the 'scent' of the solid foam....however.....the comfort of my ears and head come first. Also after the pillow is out of the plastic bag that it comes in, the 'scent' fades rather quickly. I also think that you can take the pillow back to either of those stores if you don't like it after trying it. Both Penny's and Sears have very good return policies.
I would like to find one of those TEMPUR pillows to try it but would hate to not be able to return it if it isn't what I would want.
I looked them up on the web and the cost was about $99. They sound wonderful though.
AGAIN, let us know what you decide on and how you like it.
Something else you might try is to put a couple of pillow cases on your pillow at night to put a couple of layers between you and the pillow to create more 'air'

I just bought pillows at JC Penney's about 3½ months ago. I would recommend these too ANYONE. They are sealy posturepedic. They weren't too expensive. In fact they were 1 for 1 when I purchased them. I talked my mom into getting one for dad (mom doesn't use a pillow). She bought her's and it was on sale. I think they run about $12, maybe $16. This has a "core" in the inside. I no longer have to use two pillows!!!! Still hasn't lost it's shape.

Try it, you'll like it...

I, too, was tired of buying pillows every other month, so I bought a better pillow. I bought a Ralph Lauren for about 20.00 at Costco 2 years ago, and it hasn't lost it's shape yet. It really does pay to get a better pillow

I have done that, 2 pillows in one case, better, but you know what I want! is the pillows that they have at Hotels! They always seem to be perfect! And what is really dumb now that I think about it, is that my daughter's fiance is a manager of a "high class" hotel in Seattle! Hes just been around so long I didnt even think of asking him what they use for pillows!! Thats next in line now!

Good idea about putting pillow in fridge or freezer for those good ole night waves of ours!
Arent they just fun!!!!!! I start out in shorts, sweats, t-shirt,sweatshirt,wool socks, and by end or middle of night, Im down to the bare nessecities! So Funny!!!!!! I have a cat and dog, and for some strange reason they both think that they should be sleeping on top of me!! BIG MISTAKE!!!!!! But I think they like the "hot" coming out of my body! To them, they are in heaven! I am their heat source! Its a jungle going to bed anymore!
Yes! thank you everyone! Im going to have a hay day at stores tomorrow in search of the "perfect" pillow! Amazing how picky you get when you start getting "that" age! No more fooling around! Just want comfort!
