Toothbrush storage

I'm trying to figure out a good way to store our toothbrushes.

The toothbrush "cups" you can buy in the store only have 4 holes. 2 problems there: there are 5 in my family, AND the holes are often too small for those "giant-handle" toothbrushes they sell now. The last thing I think about when buying new toothbrushes is whether they'll fit in the cup. I'm more concerned with whether I have a coupon!

Also, my kids like to use those "power" toothbrushes. The dentist encourages this as she says those do a better job. But they keep tipping over, falling off the vanity onto the floor.

I'd like to find a neat and sanitary way to keep the toothbrushes.

barbszy.....Read where they have tooth brush holders with suction cups to mount on the wall. I do have the electric Oral B toothbrush that has its own stand and is rechargeable. Once you try it will never go back to a simple tooth brush.

We use the Sonic tooth brushes & love them. It's recargeable & has the base in a stand plus comes with 2 brushes that are in a covered stand that you can sit on the countertop or hang. You can buy extra brushes & the covers. We love it & so does our dentist.

I would like to hear some responses as well. Toothbrushes have become a large clutter. We usually have a regular one for travel & a spin brush. I do think the spin brushes do a better job as well. Then there is my ds who is 6. He has 2 regular & 2 spin brushes. The idea was that the choices would encourage him to be more cooperative about brushing. Right now I keep my toothbrushes in a separate cup. Otherwise we have a large ceramic thing we got in Cancun Mexico. It has a hole in the center for a rinse cup, but the cup broke. This is where we put the spin brushes. Around the outside are 8 to 10 normal size slots for regular toothbrushes. Oh, also we have several of the reach flossers (LOVE IT) that have the toothbrush like handle. Quite bulky.

I put mine is a pretty piece of pottery that matches the bathroom. Because there are no holes, even the spinbrushes fit! Every week, I just put the pottery in the dishwasher and wash it. I think it even looks classier that regular holders.

Linnea, that is a great idea! I bet something like that would look great in my bathroom. Thanks for sharing it.

Get decorative containers at the dollar store and keep toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, bandaids, etc. works great for kids..put their name on the containers...real easy for traveling too. It was a great hit with my kids when they were young and living at home.
