Stepping Stones (from an old newsletter)
How about those garden stepping stones? We just bought a bag of mortar mix from the Home Depot for about $3 and a plastic planter saucer, also from the Home Depot, as a mold. We mixed and poured the mortar mix into the mold, pressed the kids' footprints into it while it was still wet, used a pencil to draw in their names and the dates and pressed in some glass decorative stones as a border. You could use anything - cracked tiles or colorful plates would make a neat mosaic look.

I've seen kits in craft stores and Brookstone from $20 - $35. We
spent less than $5 and have lots of leftover mortar mix.

BTW Caron--love that disco ball!

Here's another idea for stepping stones....I guess I better save my candy boxes...

Stepping Stones
Did you finish your Valentine's Day candy yet? Use the empty boxes to make heart-shaped stepping stones of all sizes.
You need:

Empty, Heart-Shaped Candy Box
Large, Disposable Mixing Containing and Stick
Shells, Beach Glass or Stones

Mix cement according to package directions. Poor into empty box. Let set a few minutes. Press shells, beach glass and/or stones into cement. Use a stick to write a message or have child make a hand print.
