Lightbulb jar pumps

Hi all!
I think I just got a lightbulb moment concerning the pumps for the mason jars. What if you buy the mason lids with the light fixture in it; remove the light fixture and replace it with a pump? I too, saw those mason jar hand lotion pumps and want one so badly. So, tomorrow, I will go to the store that sells the lamp-lids and buy one and try that! If anyone has a better idea, please let me know, as I would also like to make some of these for gifts for the country-style ladies in our family! If I do find this works, I will let you know; cause I will be jumping for joy and unable to keep it to myself!

Trust in the Lord at all times.Pour out your to him. Psalm62:8

This is what we're looking for.........but at $12.95 for the jar, I'd never be able to sell any and make a profit.
It would be nice to be able to find the lid/pump combo to use on my own jars.

Oh, I want one! I am a Master Food Preserver, so I have tons of canning jars. What a perfect thing for my kitchen. I want to put my dish soap in one.
So, I don't see why a person can't use regular jar lids and rings and use E6000 to glue together, then drill a hole, and use the same glue and glue a pump from something else on top. Sometimes you can buy the old zinc caps at thrift stores or antique shops., if you prefer an old lid.
These would make great gifts for the other gals at the extension office.
I also want to make them some bath jelly, too.
For a fun thing, I made jello and we ate our jello out of the jars. It is cute if you add fruit or veggies to the jello. I may make myself some today just for fun. I use the little 4 ounce jars or half pints.

pump

Hi Ladies,
I was just wondering if couldn't take the pump from an empty hand soap dispenser. I think I'll try that and just drill a hole in a jar lid and attach the pump with some good hot glue.

Lightbulb CanningJar Pump Dispenser

I'm new to the group and this is my first reply. So here goes....I've been painting and selling painted soap/lotion dispensers for the past 6 months and I love them. I spent alot of time searching and found a site that offers both lids and dispensers for a pretty decent price. Try this...http://www.factorydirectcraft.com/p.shtml I recently found jars with dispensers as one unit for a better price - I will have to look the company up but I think it was Ohio Craft Suppliers. The jars are cute! Good luck.

i hadnt realized the mason jar 'fad' went as far back as 2003!
i think those lids at $4 a piece are a far better price than what they were ten years ago. thanks for posting the new link, some of those others don't work anymore.
