I remember another idea we have done with wonderful results! Using old puzzles, we glued the pieces around a heavy piece of paper, cut in the shape of a 6" wreath. I glued the pieces around this wreath at least 3 layers deep. I either spray painted the pieces green, or I used green pieces of puzzles. If there were other colors on the piece, it added to the decor. I then embellished the wreath with little ornate objects, and strung a ribbon on the back for hanging. I love making this project.
Another project is with plastic forks. I hot glue 9 forks at the bottom of each fork so they fan out. I then take 2-3 different ribbons and weave them through the fork tines. Next, I take lace and glue to the tops of the tines, pulling the lace through a little bit between each fork, not tine.
I then glue a piece of lace in an arch on the handle, or base of the fan. I then take fake green leaves and flowers and embellish the base of the fan. Next, I glue a loop of ribbon on the back (on the 5th fork) to hang on the wall.
I have made fans for each season, each holiday. I have hosted senior potlucks and we would make these. The residents loved them! Many decorate their apartment doors with them.
