Thumbs up Making skinny jeans out of flares

My teen daughter and her friends all wanted new skinny jeans, but the parents said too much $ when they have all these old perfectly good jeans. They of course, brought them to me. This is how it went.
-Put on the jeans inside out and zip up.
-stand straight.
-pin the seams to fit the leg tightly, from high on the thigh to the very end. if they are bunching do that too, apparently they like it bunched.
- pin carefully with pins facing down so it will be tight. re-pin over these so you can sew accurately.
-you can leave the old seams or trim them off and finish the edges. My girls left them as they were, not sure why.
-turn inside out and have them try them on.
-adjust if and where needed.
Whalla - happy teens and parents!

Thanks Canadian neighbour...I have 3 pairs of jeans of my own that are thankfully too big, I thought I would have to take the seams apart, so time consuming, before I coould sew them. They are elastic waisted, would you sew them all the way up?
