I save a few of them for school projects for my son and grandkids. Also since my son has big feet - so big shoe boxes..., I keep my craft paint bottles in them, cover them with colorful paper and label them on the side so I know what is in it before taking them all out of the closet where they are stored...

I take mine to the recycle center along with my cardboard, I have gone to plastic shioe boxes for storage and I pick them up whenever I see them at the thrift store. Don't really get many cardboard ones any longer as DH and I usually buy our shoes at Walmart or Kmart so no shoe boxes usually even come home with us any longer. I like being able to see through the plastic ones stacked away also.

I'm a watch and bracelet "lover"
as well as pendants so they are in shoe boxes.
I do have other jewelry in my jewelry Dresser>

I like them in my drawers to divide socks and jocks etc.
The boys shoe boxes are fantastic as they have ginormous
feet and therefore big shoe boxes.

I use plastic too and recycle the boxes through the city. I try really hard to keep cardboard out of the house as bugs, spiders, etc. like them.

I have a school aged kid still so they are saved for projects during the year. She only gets 2-3 pairs over a years time so we haven't had to deal with storing them too long.
