Pillow in a Quilt

Has any one ever made one of these Pillow in a Quilt? I bought one years ago at a craft show. I keep mine in the camp it is great on those chily nights by the fire.

So one gave me a copy of the directs from Simplicity. So now I am thinking of making a few for presents for next Christmas.

It doesn't look to hard to do. Just wondering if any one has tried to make them. What they thought about it.

Good morning!!

Charlotte, I bought one at a flea market this summer, brand new, for $3. It was in a forest/bear pattern. I gave it to a friend whose bedroom is in a similar design. I think they are so cool. I would love a copy of the pattern, if you can do that, or give me the Simplicity pattern number, and I can get one.

Take care - Norma

Good evening!!

Charlotte: that comes back to pattern 4745 which says, "pillow in a quilt". Now I know what to look for. And not inexpensive - $8.40 if I order through the site, over $13.00 if I get it elsewhere.

I better start looking at yardsalse for the pattern.

Take care all!! Norma

Those things are called "Quillows" I'd love to learn how to make them also.

Quillows

I made several of these from fleece a few years ago. They were so easy. I did use the pattern in the link in the post above. But all you do is divide your blanket into thirds and make a piece the size of 1/3 squared. And sew it on. Very simple. The fleece doesn't come out quite as squashy as a quilt would but works fine on my lap for watching tv and when my feet are cold I tuck them into the pillow square. Try them it's fun and easy.

Good morning all!!

Bucaboots, and Jenny, thanks for the advice, adn the link. I printed it out, even though I do want to try the one with the quilting material.

Quillows are great. I made 8 of them a few years ago for Christmas presents and they were well recieved. I did not make one for myself though! lol You will have all sorts of fun making them. You can use a favourite quilt block and enlarge it to fit. The possibilities are endless!
