Do you know how to make homemade tempera paint?

There are a lot of recipes that I see that call for tempera paint (powdered or liquid) and I never have the money to buy any. Do you know of any way to use items in the home to make it?

EDIBLE TEMPERA PAINT

2 egg yolks
2 tsp. liquid food coloring
Beat yolks in small dish; divide amount 4 custard cups. Stir in food coloring. For blue and green, stir 1/4 teaspoon of coloring into each cup. For all other colors, stir 1/2 teaspoon coloring into each cup. To make black, combine 1 whole egg yolk, 1 1/2 teaspoon green, 1 1/2 teaspoon red, 5 drops blue. Use small, clean paint brush to pain designs on cookies before baking.

HOMEMADE TEMPERA PAINT

1/2 c. cornstarch
2 c. water
3 tbsp. sugar
Food coloring
Liquid soap
Mix the first four ingredients in a bowl. Pour into a pot and cook over a low flame until the mixture is thickened. Add 2 drops of liquid soap. Let cool before using.

Rani, I am so sorry that I didn't thank you before now for the tempera paint recipes. Thank you so much for taking the time to post those for me and anyone else that wants them.

Be blessed!
