Crafty Crafters Club

Hi everyone,

We are starting a whole new club called Crafty Crafter's. In this club you will have challenges. You may make what ever you want to that meets the challenge. You may make 2 projects a month and earn 2 awards a month. You must post a pic and give instructions on how to make it or post a link. If you post a project that you have made in the past that would meet the challenge, please tell us that fact. As you will not get an icon for projects previously made. You are on the honor system. By joining us you are giving us your word that you will only post new items that you have just made for the challenge. We reserve the right to change the rules should it become necessary.

You are welcome to show other projects.

Hi Kathy. Welcome. We will get started soon. Most people are not going to know about this until the newsletter comes out this week.

I like the idea. But I'll be around no matter what.

If you would like to make a project this month, the challenge is

1. Spring

2. Rainy days bring May flowers

Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.

I thought maybe someone else would have posted a project by now, but it looks like I'll be the first to post.

This is my Mini flower vase magnet. I put a yellow paper behind it so it would show up better.

Here is how I made it

1 bathroom size plastic cup
Small piece of cardboard
Small piece of stryofoam
small sprig of flowers
ribbon or whatever you wish to trim your vase with.
2 Strong button type magnets.. the ones you get on a roll are not strong enough to keep the magnet from sliding down.

cut the cup in half long ways.. you want to have a flat side

2. Cut a piece of cardboard in the shape of the cup & glue to the cup. Let dry

3. While glue is drying, cut a circle of styrofoam to fit in the bottom of the cup & then cut in half so that it will go all the way down into the cup. It should be a half moon shape.

4. Glue the magnets to the back of the cardboard vertically & let dry.

5. Cut the stems of the flowers to come to the top of the cup & push them into the styrofoam.

6. Glue a bow or ribbon to the front of the vase.

The flowers can be changed for the different seasons.
