New products on the shelf--do you wait for coupons or freebies before trying it?

I go to see if it is on our local store shelf first, read the ingredients, and then look for a coupon if it is more than a $1.50

Yes, I wait for coupons or samples before trying a new product. With coupons on everything now, it makes it free or almost free when it is first introduced in the store. I love the freebie sites, use them often and get nice samples.

I always wait for the coupon that will make a new item free or almost free.

I also listen to what others have to say about a new product that they have tried.

A few years ago, Carapelli (makers of my favorite olive oil) came out with several boxes mac and cheese mixes (italian style). At first there were free coupons on these products (with those coupons I picked up one of each flavor to determine if we liked them at all). We found that all 3 of us liked the 4 cheese corkscrew kind. The next time the coupons came out they were for $.50 off one. That still made them free as they were $1.00 a box here.

CarolAnn sent me tons and tons of these coupons as no one else asked for them, and I was stocked for months (eating this product once a week).

Then the product disappeared from my store shelves. I was disappointed as it was a good tasting product my family would eat, and a good alternative to Kract Mac 'n Cheese, or even the frozen Stouffers.

I don't hesitate to try a new product, just want to try it at the lowest price possible, and free is it!
