Dishwashers

I am shopping for a new dishwasher. Based on your own experience, are there any brands you would either:
recommend
OR
advise me to STAY AWAY FROM!!!

Also, I have heard that Whirlpool Company is the manufacturer for Kenmore. Can anyone verify that?

We have a Kenmore Ultra Wash dishwasher and its wonderful.
I do remember something the salesman said about Kenmore also being another company but can't remember which one. Maybe you can call Sears to find out?

Anyway, this one is great. I don't have to rinse dishes before putting them in the washer either. Never understood why you would have to wash dishes before putting them in a dishwasher. Guess its kind of like cleaning before the maid comes

It has a function that grinds up any food and flushes it away so it doesn't get back on your clean dishes, energy saver, pots and pans, normal, china and quick rinse (for dishes that will be washed later). It can either dry with hot water or heat.

Did a lot of shopping around and price comparisons before we got this one. Never had one problem in 4 years with it.

Ended up with a Maytag, and it's been a success

I like that it has a button to "lock" the controls so my toddler can't reset the cycles. I wish there were a DOOR LOCK on it but no such luck
