Chalk up another lover of the sony mavica. I have owned mine for about 4 years now and no problem whatsoever. I can upload my picuters on any computer or save the disc like a photo album. I believe it cost me around $400 way back when.

about the throw away camera...don't waist your money, you can get your regular photos from your regular camera developed at Walmart and get a disc just like the Kodak has for an extra few dollars!!! that's what we did before we got our digital

A Question about Digital Cameras

Okay, now that I'm getting pretty good on the computer I want to get a digital camera, but I'm confused. There is so many price ranges and I dont know if its best to buy an expensive one or are the inexpensive ones just as good? My DD says I can also just ask for a CD when I get my regular 35mm pictures developed. We dont take a real lot of pictures and I mainly just want to be able to post pix on the computer to send to friends etc. Any suggestions on what to buy. Ive also seen the disposable digital cameras.I dont want to get anything too technical. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Sandie - your post has been merged with a thread on digital cameras that was already established.

Sandie, before I got my digital camera I used to just get the Photo CD available with developing. If you are a member of Sam's Club they are really cheap there, if not, Walmart or anyplace else that does developing sometimes has specials. If the only thing you really want digital pictures for is to share them, this is an easy way to do it.

Thanks Barszy, yes my DD told me the same thing, as soon as I finish up the roll of film in my 35mm we'll bring it to Walmart and get the cd with the pictures. I think our membership to SAMs has expired Ill have to check with DH we dont use it as much anymore now with just the two of us here.

I got a Canon A70 a little while back. Found it on sale. It's a pretty good camera. I haven't had a problem with it yet and it takes great pictures. We like to take our memory cards or CDs of pictures to CVS and get them printed. I'm not sure how the prices compare to that of Wal-Mart, but they must be comparable. CVS is just closer for us. I also print some out at home. When I got the camera, Staples was running a pretty good deal on imaging printers, paper, and some other small acceoories. If we have visitors over, I can just print out good quality pictures right there. pretty neat.
