chuckle Correction!

I made an error regarding the higher price for the ceramic curling iron. It was supposed to be $129.00: not $129.99. --Sorry.

Blondie--I LOVE Ebay. It is located at www.ebay.com and you literally can find most anything there.

I buy many of the clothes my grandkids wear there since they grow so fast I feel it's wasteful to pay full price for somethign they'll outgrow in a matter of weeks. I always look for quality for a cheap price. They get more compliments on the clothes they wear and now the 6 year old even tells people, "My Nana shops Ebay!" I also buy LOTS of clothes for ME there.

For this item I went to ebay and typed in ceramic iron hair straightener into the search box. It brought up everything in that category.

The most important thing I can stress about Ebay is CHECK FEEDBACK on sellers. I only do business with those who have good feedback and pictures. If they're too cheap to invest in a digital camera to sell items then I'm not interested no matter how good the description they write.

The other thing is if you do shop on Ebay protect YOUR feedback by being prompt to respond to auction closings and payments.

Go take a look around the site. Some people (my in-laws for one) don't get excited about it and don't understand the attraction. I think this is kind of funny since they LOVE going to auctions. Maybe that's why though--they are right there for the action.

Have a great evening!

Jayne

Thanks so much. I'll have to look into it. It will be a new experience for me if I end up buying something. LOL!

Blondie, you are simply "the cat's meow!"

I was just re-reading one of your earlier posts & noticed you wrote that you're almost 80 y/o. VERY impressive!

I wish like crazy that I could get my 68 y/o Mom in the SAME ROOM w/the computer - just to prove to her it actually does NOT bite!!

I wanta be like YOU when I grow up!

ceramic hair iron vs a regular one?

I have a regular- non ceramic straightening iron that I got at Sally Beauty Supply for about $20... It works really well... The big difference I think is the ceramic gets hot quickly and cools off quickly... Aside from that, I dont see how it was different.... I think I also saw ceramic ones when I was there, but not for 100 bucks!!! -- maybe $40.
Just an idea....

Thanks, ladies

I'll have to check my local Sally's again...I checked there several times right after seeing this on tv, but they didn't have them & didn't seem to know what I was trying to describe.

That's been awhile...will have to check them out again!

A quick check of the Sally site found the following (I hope they work!) None are exactly what you described (brand) but they look similar. Unfortunatley they don't menion price on-site but you'll have an idea what to look for in the store at least!

chuckle Ceramic Iron

The saving grace of the one on Maury's was that it was said to be "warm"; not a hot, high heat. That was supposed to be a big difference. No, I would not pay $100.00, either. I don't have any experience in the use of one. I never needed one for one reason, but now my hair no longer is in it's former condition, and had thought a warm curling iron may not do any real harm. I would look like death warmed over if it fell out!! LOL! It also could be used for curling, and that is what I had in mind for me.

Thanks for those Sally sites. I think I will look into to the one with the three plates, especially.
It has one for making deep waves. I'll look at all of them if they are in stock. There is a Sally's in one of our shopping areas about five miles from us. Now I feel like looking, at least. Thanks again for your help.
