New TV

Getting ready to buy a TV for the guest cabin. What do you like: LCD, LED, or 3D? I know I will not get a plasma TV, but with all these other I really would like some feed back from others before I purchase one. I plan on putting it on a wall bracket so it will not be moved around. So which do you recommend, and what brand and why?

We have a 42 inch Sony plasma tv and we LOVE it..............has the best picture quality. In the bedrooms we have Panasonic LCD's. My husband, who LOVES electronics, says we will ALWAYS have a plasma tv in the livingroom. Really does have the most crisp, clean picture. We inherited the Sony when my father-in-law passed away 7 years ago. My husband's favorite brands are Panasonic and Samsung. He does ALOT of research since he loves electronics. He values these brands for their quality and pricing.

The plasma uses more electricity than the others. I think LED uses the least. You should probably go to an actual electronics store and make sure the person can explain to you about the differences. One is better if you will be watching movies in the dark, others are best viewed straight in front of the screens while others can be viewed well all over the room. Also you are taking a chance if you go with the least expensive. They have to do something to cut their cost in making it because they still have to make their profit. I work one or two days a MONTH at a furniture store in a small town. We started selling the TVs to go with the furniture. So I learned these things, but not enough to really recommend which one you need. And to top it all off....I have an old monster backed tv.

Just bought a 42 in. Vizio LCD tv. Vizio did get a good write up in the consumers report. So far I am very happy with it. The prices have really dropped in the last year. Seems more people are putting them up on a wall where they are safer away from children.
