Ford Escape

Does anyone own a Ford Escape?

I am looking into possibly buying a new car. I have had my eye on the Ford Escape for about two years now. But, I don't know anyone that has one. And I have not heard anything about them.

Can anyone help me out, and give information?

Ford Escape

Hi Mom 2 4

We had a Ford Escape here in Australia. My husband and I really loved it and had no problems with it whatsoever. Very comfortable, good handling etc. We had to part with it though because we just could not afford to run it. The model here was not exceptionally fuel effecient and we needed to be able to get more kilometres per liter of petrol. If we had not been on a pension we would have surely kept it.

My sister rented one when her Explorer was out of commission for a while.
She has 3 children ages 12, 11 and 9, and said that the Escape was WAY too small for them. The kids (who are not overweight) were squashed in the backseat.
I don't know how many people you plan to carry around in there--or how many are in car seats. The best thing is to take a test drive.

I don't have an Escape but I have the "sister" to it, the Mercury Mariner, which is brand newthis year (2005). I love it, I bought it in Sept. '04 and I have 30,000 miles on it, with no problems. It handles well, great in the snow, smooth ride and is very comfortable. I don't have kids, so I'm not sure how many people you could comfortably fit in the backseat, but there's plenty of room for 2 adults.

My cousin has an Escape and she loves it. We compared the interiors and the only difference is the Mariner looks a little more new and stylish.

Just my 2 cents!!!

If you have any questions, let me know!
