Punch Bowl Cake

  • This is a recipe that I've made for many years. It's wonderful to take to church suppers, family reunions, or for coffee and dessert while sitting on the porch in the evenings. Enjoy!

    Punch Bowl Cake

    1 yellow cake mix (bake in 9"x13" pan according to package directions)
    2 large boxes instant vanilla pudding, prepared
    2 cans crushed pineapple, drained
    2 cans cherry pie filling
    2 small tubs of Cool Whip

    Divide each ingredient in half, and layer in the order given in your prettiest punch bowl (or very large bowl). Chill well before serving.

    I like to fix this in a large clear glass bowl with a flat bottom that I bought at Pilgrim Glass Company when they were closing down. However, I've also made it in a pretty punch bowl, and it's as beautiful as it is tasty.
