Almond Butter Crunch

Hi,
Here is a recipe that I make every year for Christmas,my kids, hubby, friends and grandkids love it.

Almond Butter Crunch

1 Cup Almonds
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Butter
1 Tablespoon Corn Syrup

1.Line pie plates with tin foil, grease with margarine.
2.Cook Almonds,Sugar,Butter and Corn Syrup in Cast Iron Frying Pan until golden brown, stirring constantly.
3.Put into tin foiled lined pie plates, let set, remove from tin foil, wrap in saran wrap and place in freezer bag.
4.When you are ready for them, remove from freezer and break into small pieces.
5.Enjoy

Does it have to be a cast iron fry pan?

I have always done it is a cast iron frying pan,but I think a good non-stick frying pan would work just as well.

Enjoy

Thank you for the recipe, maybe the cast iron allows the sugar to heat but not burn the almonds?
