no christmastree until 20th dec maybe. and we keep it up til jan 6th at least. and it is a real cut tree. my mom has kept her til march (we use water bucket leg for the tree) because it is not dropping any needles and sometimes has grown few centimeters.

I have packed away all my fall decorations. I couldn't do the outside decoration because it is raining today. Maybe I'll get the inside Christmas decorations down this afternoon......Will decorate inside first.....then maybe tree next week....

I love the look of my house now, everything is decorated and twinkling. The fireplace mantel is especially nice with fairy lights and garland and red bows on it. I put my collection of santas on the mantel.
For many years my dh would be kind of sick at Christmas every year, well we finally found out he was allergic to woods, mostly pine, so even tho the kids were so against it, I made them realize that dad would enjoy Christmas even more, they relented and we got an artificial.

Adam & I have been gone good part of the day. A Judy got out the tree ornaments and other things I put around the house. But outside of couple of Redbirds no decorations are displayed yet. Will go thro' ornaments tomorrow (thought I would do it today but!!) and get them on the tree tomorrow. I bought a plastic table cloth for dining room table and a Christmasy runner for coffee table while out today as well as a small tree to go in DR. I have some special ornaments I want to put on it.
Got a zillion mails to go thro' more later

Minny, we had the same custom in my house when I was a kid. Santa did the tree after we were in bed on Christmas Eve. I don't know how my parents did it!

My tree will stay up until the first Sunday in January. I have to have it down and away by Friday the 8th as I am having surgery and after that I won't be putting away any Christmas stuff.
