I only got to spend 1 tour in Germany we got orders for second tour but we have a mentally challenged dau and it was decided to make such a drastic move would not be in her best interest. I was sad we could not go but had to do what was in Judy's best interest.
I have never used a Holly Tree as a Christmas tree but have used branches around the house as decorations

I put up 2 of the 4 trees that I put up today. I put the pre-lit artifical tree up in the familyroom. I put the other artifical tree up on the back porch. The other 2 trees will be live trees. We don't put them up till the 1st weekend in December.

Charlotte you must have a fairly large house for 3 trees not to mention the back porch. I think that is great

Happy face

When we were kids, we never got to see our tree til Christmas Morning. "Santa" did our tree. I was 15 yrs old the first time I got to help decorate the tree... I was kinda disappointed on Christmas morning..LOL. We always had a cut tree, since back then there were no artificial trees. I have an artificial one now though. I don't have it decorated yet, but did set it up in the stand to see where I wanted to put it this year.

Minnie, Your post brought back some memories for me. My parents did the same, the tree was from Santa. When we got older we did it about 2 weeks before Christmas. .......When I had my first child I thought this would be nice to do...My dh and I put the tree up Christmas eve from Santa. This was the first and last time we ever did this again! It took a lot of time and a big mess. The lights wouldn't work either. We got to bed in the wee hours of the morning.....It was never done again on Christmas Eve. I don't know how my parents did it. Maybe they decorated the tree ahead of time and hid it till Christmas Eve! LOL

My dh received a Christmas tree from dd for his birthday LOL. It is up, but I am starting to decorate it today. It's kind of scrawny, so I have lots of decorations to cover it with. Our outdoor fairy lights have been up for about a week, we took advantage of the warmer weather. Now, I just have to get the $$'s and energy to do some shopping. I wish I could be organized enough to shop through the year, maybe that will be my resolution for 2010.

I went over to Gina's to help her with her tree. She always puts it up today. Some how I knew while I was there Adam would put ours up and yep when I came in about half hour ago it was up. But not decorated as the boxes are all out in the shed. So they will be brought in the house tomorrow and I will go thro' them and see which I want to put on the tree. Already got wreath on the door
