When I contacted my local newspaper. The reply I got back from one of the reporters was.
He contacted a thrift store and their reply was, "They will have test kits for lead available for customers to use if they would like." Then gave me a site to visit if I wanted to purchase things from them.
I guess that the paper didn't seem to think it was any big deal. Wonder if their opinion would have been different if it would've affected them printing newspapers and not being able to sell them??
Again, the law regarding the books is fluid. I think they will amend it.
I am still concerned about making and selling on ebay and esty. The way the law reads now IF you want to make a blanket for a child, you can not do it and follow the law. Unless you want to pay to have it tested.
I'm not sure where this stands, the only thing I heard on local news about it late last week is that there was "talk" of amending this new law to not include thrift stores. Anyone heard anything of this?
Thrift stores, church donations and yard sales are no long included in this law.
