Juku Couture™ Dolls

JAKKS Pacific, Inc. plays upon one of the most popular new trends in high fashion and on the streets of today’s trendiest kids, the mismatching and layering of clothes and accessories with its Juku Couture™ unique doll and accessory product line hitting at retail in September 2008. Juku Couture is inspired by the limitless possibilities and fashionable combinations that mismatching and layering pieces offers girls to express themselves and have fun! Each of the
four beautiful, poseable dolls feature True™ eyes, multiple points of articulation, and have the possibility to create more than 10 different looks with just one outfit!

Outfits that don’t match are actually today’s new fashion statement! The new style started with the famous fashion trendsetters in Harajuku, Japan who started purposely mismatching and layering fashion as a form of self-expression. In Harajuku, mixing different styles and mismatching colors and patterns is encouraged – girls can do anything they want as long as their outfit is a thoughtful expression of their own individuality. Today, influential performing artists are spearheading
this new vogue in fashion, with girls and celebrities creating their own looks with multiple layers and colors all over the world! JAKKS exemplifies this unique fashion trend with the Juku Couture doll line.

We tested Hayley.

I have mixed feelings about this doll.

Pros:

The doll's joints all move. My daughter loved this. She can hold her tennis racket well and it doesn't fall off when moving the doll. The boots and shoes are easy to put on and take off--they are split up the back. The accessories in the cute.

Cons:
The leggings aren't sewn well around the tops causing them to slide off very easily. One of the tops had a tiny hole in the front of it. Also, with this same shirt, the arm holes are not cut big enough for the doll's hand to fit through it. I tried for several minutes but could not get her hands through either sleeve.

Also, in my DD's opinion, the True™ eyes on these dolls are sort of strange. Again, this is just my DD's opinion.
