McGregor's Garden Patch Pie

as posted by danstigerangel in the August 2004 What's
for Dinner? thread.

McGregor's Garden Patch Pie

1 lb. ground beef
1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup catsup
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 T worcestire sauce
1/4 t salt
1/8 t pepper
1 egg slightly beaten
1 cup frozen mixed veges
TOPPING
1 cup water
3 T butter
1 1/2 cups mashed potato flakes
1/2 cup milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup shredded cheddar
paprika

Heat oven to 350. In large bowl combine beef, bread crumbs, catsup, onion, worc. sauce, salt, pepper and egg. Add veges. Mix. Pat mixture into 9-10 inch pie plate. Bake for 30-35 minutes until thorughly cooked.
In medium saucepan heat water and butter to a rolling boil. Remove from heat. Stir in potato flakes, milk and egg. Mix well. Add cheese. Blend well. Spoon or piep mixture on top of cooked meat mixture. Sprinkle lightly with paprika. Return to oven and bake for 10 minutes or until browned.
