Peach Cake with Peach Sauce

  • Peach Cake with Peach Sauce

    Serves 15 people

    Ingredients
    2 T. Margarine or Butter
    1 C. Sugar
    Pinch of salt
    1 Beaten Egg
    1 C. Milk
    2 t. Vanilla
    2 C. Flour
    2 t. Baking Powder
    8 to 10 Sliced Fresh Peaches,(lightly sugared to taste)
    2 t. Cinnamon
    1/3 C. Sugar
    1 T. Butter

    Directions
    Cream together margarine or butter, sugar and salt.
    Add to the creamed mixture the beaten egg, milk, and vanilla.
    Blend flour and baking powder. Add this to the creamed mixture.
    Lightly grease a 9" x 12" baking pan.
    Pour in mixture and spread out evenly.
    Place the sliced peaches on top of the dough mixture.
    Mix the 2 t. cinnamon with the 1/3 c. sugar and sprinkle it over the peaches.
    Dot with 1 T margarine or butter.
    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

    Peach Sauce

    1 C. Powdered Sugar (sifted)
    1/3 C. Margarine or Butter (softened)
    2/3 Crushed Peaches(about 2 or 3 peaches mashed)
    1/8 t. Salt
    1 t. Vanilla
    2 T. Cream

    Cream margarine or butter. Gradually add powdered sugar
    until well blended. Add crushed peaches, salt, vanilla, and cream.
    Mix well together. Chill and serve with Peach Cake.
