Caramel Dessert cake

  • Caramel Dessert cake.

    2 cups self raising flour
    100grams butter or margarine
    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 can caramel pie filling

    Put all ingredients into a mix master bowl and mix for 2 minutes.
    Pour batter into a tray approx 33x23 cm.
    Teaspoon dollops of caramel filling onto the top of the cake batter, don't
    cover fully but you want to be able to have caramel in each square when cut.
    Bake in a 180*C oven for 20 -25 minutes.
    Leave to cool mostly in the tray until at least the caramel on top is set.
    Turn out and cut into squares.
    Eat as is or serve with ice cream or whipped cream.

    Yes you can freeze, yes you can use chocolate pie filling.
    I cut before freezing.
