Thumbs up Aloha Dump Cake

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Use 9 X 13 baking pan, greased.
3. Servings: 12

1-1/4 pounds canned crushed pineapple, undrained
1, 10 ounce jar maraschino cherries, drained (whole or cut in half)
1/2 pound flaked coconut, untoasted
1 package (2 layer size) yellow cake mix
1 cup unsalted butter cut into small pieces

Pour pineapple & juice into baking pan. Add drained cherries & evenly distribute coconut over pineapple. Sprinkle cake mix over top & spread evenly. Cover surface with pieces of butter. DO NOT MIX.

Bake 45 minutes until top is browned.

Cool before cutting into squares.

This is a good cake. Had it served with cool whip on top at someones house. Was a big hit.
Thanks for sharing.

Yum!! I made this tonight. It is a hit with my family. I do think the cake mix makes it too sweet. I may make my own 'cake mix' next time so I can cut out some of the sugar.

This recipe has won a Blue Ribbon.
Tester was seleach.

Congrats Sandie!! This was great. I am going to take this over to our neighbor when we go there for a Christmas get together.

My daughter is always short on baking pans, so I bought her a nice Corning ware glass one, and am baking it in that, than she can keep the baking dish.Happy Holidays everyone
