Mandarin Orange Cake

Mandarin Orange Cake
Batter:
1 egg
1c. sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
1 sm can mandarin oranges, drained
1 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Topping
1/2 c. brown sugar
3 T. milk
3 T. butter
Combine all ingredients. Add nuts and salt last. Pour batter into greased and floured 8X8 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
For topping, combine brown sugar, milk and butter in small saucepan. Boil and pour over cooled cake.
