Spanish Country Bread

    Spanish Country Bread

    1 1/4 cup warm water
    1 tbl yeast
    3 1/4 cups bread flour
    1 tbl salt

    Add the ingredients to the bread machine in the order
    your manufacturer recommends.
    When the dough cycle is done, divide dough in half.
    Roll into a 5 X 20 oblong.
    Roll up on the long side like a jelly roll.
    Sprinkle a cookie sheet with cornmeal.
    Place bread seam side down on the cookie sheet.
    Cut slits in the top.
    Let rise until double.
    Preheat oven to 450 (YES, 450!!!)
    Bake 20 minutes on upper rack.

    If you don't use a machine, just do the dough by hand.

    This is pretty much like an Italian bread.
    It comes out nice and crusty.
