Outback Steakhouse Bread"
I got the main recipe from Top Secret Recipes but I have adapted it for the bread machine (dough cycle).
Makes 1 regular size loaf of bread.
Add these ingredients to your bread pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer:
3/4 cup warm water
1 tbl butter
1/4 cup honey
1 1/2 tsp caramel color (optional)
1 cup flour
a little less than 1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tbl sugar
1/2 tsp cocoa powder
1 tsp instant coffee
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp yeast
Use dough cycle.
Shape finished dough into a loaf and place in a loaf pan sprinkled with cornmeal. Let rise 1 hour in a warm place.
Probably it will look like the dough has not doubled; don't worry about it! Bake it anyway! It will increase in height in the oven.
Cat, I am a bread lover, but I have never been to Outback, I can kind of figure out what this bread might be like, but can you describe what this bread tastes like for me?

Barbszy originally posted it here on FC and someone had asked me about the recipe. For some reason it was deleted from FC so all I did was repost it and I said it was originally posted by Barbszy so I don't know how it tastes. I made it a long time ago, but not recently. Maybe Barbszy will see this or someone else that has recently made it.
It's an interesting menu and I'm curious if it's actually an Australian 'owned' restaurant or just a 'themed' Aussie restaurant as we don't know about it.
