Chocolate Walnut Bread

I just tried this recipe using black walnuts instead of the ususal walnuts and it was delicious! Thought I'd share the recipe

1 egg pluis enough water to equal 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp.
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp butter, softened
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups bread flour
1 tbsp. powdered milk
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup walnuts (I used black walnuts)
1 tsp. bread machine yeast

Make in bread machine that uses 3 cups flour for 1 1/2 pound loaf

Place all ingredients in bread machine according to the manufacturer's order. Select Sweet or Basic/White Cycle. Use medium crust color. Do not use the delay cycle. Remove baked bread from pan and cool on wire rack.

Good for peanut butter sandwiches or spread with softened cream cheese!

Bread Machine

Hiya, thats sounds scrumptious, I cant wait to try it....I just got a bread machine in January, I'm still learning the ins and outs. But I do know its something to be careful about ( made some real flops), and I cant seem to find a banana bread recipe that doesnt get super dark crust on it, Grrrr ! LOL I got the bread machine for dummies from the library, and a few other books. I'm partial to fruit breads, peach, banana, raspberry, apple, orange.... would you have any recipes for those ? Thanks Bunch !

Sorry about being so long getting back to you! Here's the Potato Bread recipe

11 oz. water,80 degrees (1 1/4 cups + 2 tbsp.)
2 tbsp. butter
3 1/4 cups bread flour
1/2 cup instant potato flakes
2 tbsp. dry milk
2 tbsp. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. bread machine/fast rise yeast

Follow directions according to your bread machine as far as ingredient order. Select basic cycle, crust color and loaf size of 1 1/2 pound

This is a WONDERFUL tasting bread and we ususally don't like white breads; but we love this one!

The recipe states that you can save liquid from cooking potatoes to replace water in this recipe for added flavor. I've never done this, but know other people that have and they say it defintely does add even more flavor! I just never think to save my potato water!

I can't think of any particular bread recipe I need right now, but if I do I'll be sure to ask on here; thanks!
