Pumpkin Soup - Book and CD set

Pumpkin Soup Book & CD Set

Deep in the woods in an old white cabin, three friends make their pumpkin soup the same way every day.
The Cat slices up the pumpkin, the Squirrel stirs in the water, and the Duck tips in just enough salt. But one
day the Duck wants to stir instead, and then there is a horrible squabble, and he leaves the cabin in a huff.
It isn't long before the Cat and the Squirrel start to worry about him and begin a search for their friend.

Rendered in pictures richly evoking autumn, Helen Cooper's delightful story will resonate for an child who
has known the difficulties that come with friendship.

Included at the end is a recipe for delicious pumpkin
soup!!

Winner of the Kate Greenaway Medal!!

This is an adorable story! My daughter read the book to me and then listened to the CD. Both of us really enjoyed it.

She asked if she could take it to school so that her teacher could read it to her classmates. I thought that the timing was perfect since we are well into fall and Halloween is right around the corner. She said that the class loved the story and that the teacher asked her to bring back the CD so that they could listen to it, too --they ran out of time today.

Right now she is in her room reading the story to her "students".

You can tell the book is a keeper once it passes through all of these phases with her!
