The Queen of Spiders

Marc Aranha Reflects Upon Childhood
Myths in The Queen of Spiders

Author Marc Aranha takes children to a fantasyland where imagination becomes a reality! The Queen of Spiders invites kids to take refuge in their creativity, while teaching important lessons about self-empowerment, personal responsibility and betrayal.

Lucas Grant finds refuge as a brave knight or crafty spy, away from the taunting bullies at his elementary school. Using his creativity, Lucas enters a world filled with a bossy gargoyle, a cowardly lizard, a heavily muscled minotaur and many more tantalizing creatures. Lucas journeys through the magical world of shadows where he discovers the dangers of imagination.

Marc uses richly developed characters to capture the attention of children, while upholding traditional values. "This book teaches children that imagination is the key to empowerment and overcoming the flaws in each of us," he explains.

When writing The Queen of Spiders, Marc Aranha drew upon the creatures and myths that have fascinated him since childhood. His previously published works include the fantasy game, Shalkith: Last Kin. Marc lives in Pennsylvania, where he continues to write keeping Wally, Mushin and Nibble well fed on a diet of imagination.
