I just finished The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield.
This book is a mix of philosophy & Spirituality. This book tells a story of an American, who is adventuring in the rain forests of Peru, and discovers a set of nine manuscripts. These manuscripts, referred to as "insights", offer ways of discovering a new sense of life.
I really enjoyed the book and its insights.

Amazon blurb:In the rain forests of Peru, an ancient manuscript has been discovered. Within its pages are 9 key insights into life itself -- insights each human being is predicted to grasp sequentially; one insight, then another, as we move toward a completely spiritual culture on Earth. Drawing on ancient wisdom, it tells you how to make connections among the events happening in your life right now and lets you see what is going to happen to you in the years to come. The story it tells is a gripping one of adventure and discovery, but it is also a guidebook that has the power to crystallize your perceptions of why you are where you are in life and to direct your steps with a new energy and optimisim as you head into tomorrow.

I read Lost City of Steam: A Private Investigator Andrew Knight Mystery by R L Edinger. It is steampunk, a genre I have never read. I decided to read it only because I know the author. He works at the same WahlMart I did.

As usual he gets you interested in the story and you have to know what happens next.

On the eve of Queen Victoria's death, Rory Breckenridge and twenty other families disappeared in a great storm on the Irish Sea. One hundred years later eight college students vanished while exploring the Breckenridge estate. A young woman, Leara, searches for her sister who was among them. Unable to find her sister, she seeks out the one person who can help, Private Investigator Andrew Knight. What starts out as a simple missing person's case turns out to be much more. When the truth is finally discovered, Andrew Knight may be the one truly in danger.

I finished The Tenth Insight by James Redfield. This book picks up where The Celestine Prophecy left off. Again it's a book about spirituality and opening yourself up to your true potential but it is written as a fiction story kind of like the da vinci code, in that the churches and others do not want the knowledge out and take steps to stop people from gaining this knowledge.
It's actually quite informing if you set aside the drama part. There's lots of good information about who we are, what are purpose is that you can get from this book.
I enjoyed it.

Do cook books count? LOL I have a new kitchen toy and have been reading several pressure cooker cook books. I know they don't count.

Felicia, that book sounds interesting. I read The Celestine Prophecy also.
I have been working on Sense and Sensibility for a while.

LaurieS - I am reading the 3rd one now, The Secret of Shambhala by James Redfield.
It's just as good as the other 2. I do not have the 12 Insight book yet so I won't get to read the next one until I buy it.
