Adult Beverages

Oreo Mochatini

In a chilled shaker combine:

2 oz. coffee flavored vodka
4 oz chocolate milk
1 oz. creme de cacao

with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a Oreo cookie. (place on the edge of the glass with the "middle" of the cookie hanging on to the edge of the glass)

This sounds delicious. I'm usually not excited about chocolate and alcohol being mixed, but I'll have to try this next time I'm looking for something different. Hahahah.

Long story short - my favorite drink, that I crave all the time, is called Skinny Redheaded Hottie. It's a cherry vodka cranberry sprite.

Skinny Redheaded Hottie

Three Olives Cherry vodka
Lite sour mix
Cranberry Juice and,
A splash of Sprite

Served on the rocks with a cherry or two on top.

The listed recipe is what's posted on their menu. I'm sorry I don't have any measurements. I'll post a picture though! :D

Long story - When my husband was stationed in Virginia we were always searching for good BBQ to eat. For us, in comparison to Texas BBQ, VA's BBQ was just icky. Even some of the local hot establishments never hit the spot. :P lol. We went out on a limb and tried a BBQ chain restaurant called Smokey Bones. It was great! Although the Skinny Redheaded Hottie was a weight watcher beverage, I thought I'd try it. It ended up being my favorite drink. :D delicious.

Raspberry Cachaca

Yield: 2 servings, approximately 6 oz.

Raspberry Simple Syrup:
½ package (3 oz.) Raspberries
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup water

Raspberry Cachaca:
8-10 Raspberries
4 large mint leaves
2 Tbsp. lemon-lime soda
½ cup ice cubes
6 Tbsp. cachaca or white rum
1½ tsp. lime juice
6 Tbsp. raspberry simple syrup

For raspberry simple syrup: Combine ½ package raspberries, sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves and berries soften. Cool. Strain and press berries to release juice. Discard pulp.

For drink: Muddle raspberries, mint leaves and raspberry simple syrup in a ****tail glass using a muddler or flexible spatula.

Add ice, white rum and lime juice. Top with soda. Stir and serve.

I have a notepad full of virgin beverages for when I'm craving my favorite alcoholic beverages during my pregnancy. Crazy huh.

In a jug or pitcher, crush blueberries, strawberries and chopped mint and pour mixture in raspberry sparkling water. If you don't have a muddler you can use the back of a spoon to crush. To make it an adult beverage, add vodka according to taste.

Another one my dads family enjoys making is,
Cranberry/Pomegranate juice and club soda with a wedge of lime.

Awesome! Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Another great one that even my hubby enjoys!

Mix together,
1 part cranberry juice
1 part pineapple juice and
1 part plain or berry flavored Gingerale

Ginger syrup or even a sparkling apple cider can replace the Gingerale if needed. I think it tastes best with a berry flavored Gingerale. :D
Delicious!

Been looking on the cruise pages adn there is one thread that is called " What is your favorite drink" and been reading up.. there is one that looks so good but oh it looks as if it filled with calories.

I do enjoy the bubbly and fruity cold/ iciee drinks. virgin drinks the most.

Our baby boy is due at the end of June. Before I was preggers my favorite drink was the one I listed above, "Skinny Redheaded Hottie." I could never have enough of those. I still crave it even while pregnant. I also could never pass up a good Long Island Ice Tea. I never cared much for virgin drinks until I became pregnant. Now I'm definitely hooked on them. Haha. Still can't wait to add a splash of vodka or the like once I'm able.

That's one thing I thought was neat about the Skinny Redheaded Hottie. It's a low cal adult beverage. I never knew until I looked up the recipe for it one day and then it kinda clicked after that, hint: "skinny." Lol.

For the longest time my hubby and I only ever mixed our own beverages when we had company over or when we were in the mood to try and replicate our favs at home. Now that we know more about what we really enjoy we make them at home more frequently just to save money. We prefer to go out, sit down, and have someone else make our drinks but ehhh. Things always seems to taste better when someone else makes it for you. Lol.

My other favorite beverage was pretty much any type of Cider Beer. There hasn't been one I didn't like so far. Hubby and I used to be big beer drinkers until I turned 21 and we started trying more things.

My favorite white wine has to be accompanied with a chicken madeira dish, it's a Riesling by, Dr. Loosen Dr. L. I still haven't found an affordable red wine to fall in love with.

What about y'all? Do you fix your own drinks or prefer to go out? Let's see some recipes! :D
