Grilled Sausage and Onion Kabobs

1 20 oz bottle dark beer
1/3 cup molasses
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp hot mustard
1 tsp salt
2 pounds kielbasa sausage, cut into 1" pieces
1 large onion, cut into 1" pieces
2 large red bell peppers, cut into 1" pieces

In a medium bowl combine beer, molasses, brown sugar, garlic, mustard, and salt. In a large zip lock bag put the sausage, onion and peppers and add beer mixture, seal, bag, and refrigerate for 1 hour. Remove sausage, onion, and peppers from bag and discard marinade. Thread the sausage, onion, and peppers alternately onto 20 (6") skewers. Have a grill hot and spray racks with nonstick spray. Put kabobs on rack and cook 10 to 15 minutes or till sausage is browned and vegetables are tender, turning occasionally. Serve immediately. Makes about 20

We Welcome Strays

When I was young we used to go "skinny dipping"; now we just "chunky dunk"

“The value of doing something does not lie in the ease or difficulty, the probability or improbability of its achievement, but in the vision, the plan, the determination and the perseverance, the effort and the struggle which go into the project. Life is enriched by aspiration and effort, rather than by acquisition and accumulation.”
