Thumbs up Mozzarella Beef Burgers

This recipe was originally posted in What’s for Dinner August 2008 by: Minny

Mozzarella Beef Burgers

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup Shredded Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
1/4 cup barbecue sauce, divided
4 hamburger buns

PREHEAT grill to medium-high heat. Mix meat, cheese, bread crumbs and 2 Tbsp. of the barbecue sauce. Shape into four patties.
PLACE patties on grill; cover grill with lid. Grill 4 to 6 min. on each side or until burgers are cooked through (160°F), brushing with remaining 2 Tbsp. barbecue sauce during last 2 min. of grilling time.
Serves 4.

Thumbs up This recipe has won a Blue Ribbon

Happy6 has awared a blue ribbon to Minny for this recipe.

Congrats Minny. These really sound good. I think they could also be made in a broiler or even a frying pan. I am going to be making them.

Thank you Caroline for being a recipe tester and testing this recipe.

I added some mozzerella cheese on top of mine. I covered them with a lid & melted the cheese.. they were really good.

Thanks Caroline for testing this.

Yes Sharon, you can make them in a skillet or in the broiler too.
