Mini Bread Wreaths For Easter

Instead of making a large Easter Bread, Make small little wreaths with an Easter egg in the middle. The bread will stay fresher longer and everyone can have their own labelled wreath.

Sweet Yeast Dough
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup plus 1 tsp sugar
1 pkg. quick rise yeast
1/4 cup butter room temp.
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 1/4 cups flour, divided

Microwave milk 30 sec. or until 115*f. Stir in 1 tsp.sugar and yeast. Cover and let sit 5 min. or until foam forms on top. Using electric mixer fitted with paddle on medium speed, beat butter, eggs, vanilla extract and 1/2 cup sugar 1 min. Beat in 1 cup flour. Reduce speed to low and slowly beat in yeast mixture 1 min or until smooth. Beat in 2 3/4 cups flour 4 min. or until soft dough forms.
Heat oven to 350*f
Transfer dough to greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap. Let sit in warm place 20 min. or until dough doubles in size.

Divide dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into 20 in log.
Fold logs in half twist and shape wreaths, Tucking loose ends into loop to secure.

Place wreaths on greased baking sheet. Let sit 15 min. or until wreaths double in size. Brush with beaten egg. Bake 18 min or until golden.
Place decorated eggs in center of each wreath.

Wishing you all a Happy Easter!

This is such a nice idea. I am going to print it out and hopefully have the time and energy to make them. Thanks for bumping this one up.

This is a cute idea. Do you know if paddle attachments are only made for standing electric beaters or if I could get some for hand held beaters?

I'm not sure, but I have only seen them for stand mixers. I dont know why you couldn't prepare the dough by hand like any other bread though.

I am terrible at hand kneading bread but just remembered that I could probably use the dough setting on my bread machine.
