Kathy, I will let you know when I make it, which will be sometime between Wednesday and this weekend, and let you know whether or not I like it.

We have frequent picnic meals during the summer as we go to the lake often. We do hot dogs/burger, and I will take some boneless chicken breast strips and grill them too.(the adults love them...) and of course some sort of salad, either macaroni or potato and I usually fix a gallon of iced tea and take it along and bottled water (we are not big on drinks). Also we take a big bag of chips as the kids like to run back and forth from the swimming area to the picnic table to munch...

I love picnic food, period, but at every family reunion or gathering, we always have corn on the cob!

Just being outside makes a picnic great!! We sometimes just go and get barbeque and just sit on the back of the jeep and eat. Not as good as when we go to Tennessee, but I think the best part of a picnic is slowing down to enjoy the people you are with.

The strangest thing I saw was a crockpit pot full of fresh green beans with bacon. Brilliant! I have always remembered that. I have that to church dinners too. Always a hit.

Yes Homemade Potato Salad.....I like to make it bacon ranch.....it isn't good calorie wise but it tastes so good.
I do not like store bought salads. The preservatives used always leave an after taste in my mouth.

I don't care for store bought salads either. Unless it is Long John Silvers coleslaw. I love that!

Bacon Ranch Potato Salad sounds like the bomb. Will you share your recipe?
